Art Technology Integration Courses For PCS Visual Arts Teachers

• Beginning ArtTIP 24 hr course- 1000027C Topics to be covered: Use and maintenance of the computer, video projector and digital camera, Using the internet to mine for information and how to conduct web quests, How to use the digital camera, edit photos, and use them for presentations or web pages, How to design, create, and use effective digital presentations. Limit 20

• Digital Arts Lab for High School 24 hr course- 1000040C This class is designed for High School teachers that are currently teaching or will be teaching computer graphics, multimedia design, or digital photography. Topics to be covered but not limited to: Adobe Illustrator, PhotoShop, Flash, Carrara 3D Basics, and Equipment and Lab Management Limit 20

• Digital Arts Lab for Middle Schools 24 hr course- 1000039C This class is designed for Middle School teachers that are currently teaching or wil be teaching Art 2D, Graphic Design, or Creative Photography. Topics to be covered but not limited to: iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, Photoshop Elements, Painter Elements, Google SketchUp , Pencil, and Equipment Management. Limit 20

• Digital Arts Lab for Elementary Schools 24 hr course- 1000038C This class is designed for Elementary Art School teachers that are currently teaching or wil be teaching digital arts. Topics to be covered but not limited to: iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, Photoshop Elements, Painter Elements, Art Rage, and Equipment Management. Limit 20

• Photographing Student ArtWork 6 hr course- 1000032C This class is designed to teach Visual Art Teachers how to set up an environment with lighting to photograph student artwork with a digital camera for exhibitions, assessment, student portfolios and use on the world wide web. Limit 20
• Podcasting for Visual Art 12 hr course- 1000032C This class is designed to teach Visual ArtTeachers how to: 1.locate, acquire and utilize exiting Podcasts 2. Design,Create and produce a Podcast, Enhanced Podcast, and a Video Podcast. Limit 20
• Making Videos for Visual Arts 6 hr course-1000031C This class is designed to teach Visual Art Teachers how to teach students to develop, film, edit and produce videos that integrate reading, writing and art skills. Limit 20
• Digital Art Curr. Apps 3 hr course-1000044C This class is designed to teach teachers how to use new technologies in the Visual Arts as they become known and available. Limit 20
• Online Strategies in Art 3 hr course-1000036C This class is designed to teach teachers how to use new technologies in the Visual Arts as they become known and available. Limit 20

Eligibility:  Visual Arts teachers that can use a computer for word processing and e-mail and have internet access at home or school to complete their assignments.

Commitment: Completion of all days of training and follow up assignments.

Location: To be announced

Follow up: Presentation at Art PLCs and participation in online forum participation.

Compensation: Teachers can be paid the stipend work amount ($10/hour), take trade days, or a combination of both. Component points will also be offered. Teachers in Beginning ArtTIP will receive equipment. Digital Arts Lab participants will receive Art Computer labs and additional equipment as funds are available.

ArtTIP Professional Learning Communities

ArtTIP PLC 1000028C: Follow up and Follow through for teachers that have completed Beginning or Intermediate ArtTIP. Learn and share new skills with other Art teachers. Share your success stories, tips, and examples. Learn methods and projects that others are doing. Each ArtTIP PLC focuses on questions or processes that teachers request.
